The Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Ms. Lira Pipa, together with the Head of the Albanian National Center of Cinematography (QKK), Mr. Jonid Jorgji, and the Director of the Central State Film Archive (AQSHF), Mr. Eljan Tanini, attended the premiere of director Roland Sejko’s latest documentary, Film di Stato, part of the Notti Veneziane program — a section curated by Giornate degli Autori in collaboration with Isola Edipo. Produced and distributed by Luce Cinecittà, the documentary offers an extraordinary visual journey through the period of the Albanian dictatorship (1945–1990), using previously unpublished archival materials — including footage from the Central State Film Archive — to reveal the rhythms, silences, and mechanisms of propaganda from that era. With this work, Sejko — previously awarded the David di Donatello for Anija – The Ship and the Nastro d’Argento for The Image Machine of Alfredo C. — once again demonstrates the power of documentary art to bring history back into a new reflection. A significant moment for Albanian documentary cinema on one of the world’s most prestigious stages!
