Driant Zeneli at Sharjah Biennial 16

Driant Zeneli at Sharjah Biennial 16! June 15 is the last day to see the artist’s work Maybe the Cosmos is not so extraordinary! The Biennial’s theme, “to carry,” explores what a person brings with them: memories, history, hope, trauma, and emotion. This is reflected in Zeneli’s conceptual room, where space takes the shape of a cosmic utopia—bridging the past through memory and the future through imagination. Maybe the Cosmos is not so extraordinary (2019) and the mural Towards the Mineral of Chrome (2024) draw inspiration from Arion Hysenbegas’s 1983 science fiction novel On the Way to Epsilon Eridani—a work brought back into focus through an installation that intertwines cultural memory with a speculative vision of the future. Curated by: Alia Swastika, Amal Khalaf, Megan Tamati-Quennell, Natasha Ginwala, and Zeynep Öz.
