“The Memory of Skin” – the latest solo exhibition by artist and curator Oltsen Gripshi, curated by Rosanna de Cicco, will take place from September 18–28, 2025 at the Museo del Sannio, Benevento, Italy. Through installations, video art, photography, and painting on canvas, Gripshi explores a concept that intertwines philosophy, neuroscience, psychology, and literature: the skin as a “living text” that carries memory, experience, and the inner boundaries of identity. Oltsen Gripshi holds a Doctor of Sciences in the History of Albanian Art and is the founder of the Durrës International Biennale of Contemporary Art. His works have been featured in important exhibitions in Albania and abroad, positioning him as a distinctive voice in contemporary art. Supported by the Municipality of Benevento, Campania Region, the Ministry of Culture of Italy, and the contemporary art festival “StregArti,” this exhibition raises essential questions on the body, social interaction, and the borders of identity. An invitation to read art as a profound reflection on memory, skin, and being.
