“The Memory of Skin” Showcase

The solo exhibition of Albanian contemporary artist Oltsen Gripshi, titled “The Memory of Skin”, curated by Rosanna De Cicco (art historian and curator), has opened at the Museo Nazionale del Sannio. “The Memory of Skin” is a concept that interweaves philosophy, neuroscience, psychology, and literature, presented to the public as a unique form of preserving and recalling bodily experiences in space and time. Within the phenomenology of contemporary art, according to Gripshi, the skin symbolizes the boundary between the individual and the world, serving as a surface upon which identity, memory, and embodied experience are projected. It thus transforms into an epistemotopographic map of human existence.
